Dining in Newburgh and Evansville – Something for Every Taste Bud!

Because they’re only about 20 minutes apart, having an apartment in either Newburgh or Evansville means you can easily go to either city for a great meal.

Here’s what you need to know if you want to feast right after you move into your new apartment:

- You’ll always be close to great Mexican food

There’s a growing Latin population on the eastern side of Evansville, which has led to a surge in Mexican restaurants. Whether your apartment is on the East Side of Evansville or in Newburgh, you’ll have easy access to things like homemade salsa, authentic tacos, and classic dishes like menudo, carne asada, and tortas. And, because there are so many restaurants to choose from, you can eat in a small taqueria or a more upscale restaurant.

Or, if you’d rather do the cooking yourself, you’ll be happy to learn that there are also a number of Mexican grocery stores sprinkled amongst the restaurants.

- You’ll have plenty of choices for a fancy dinner

Whether it’s date night or you’re celebrating a big promotion at work, both Evansville and Newburgh have a variety of fancier restaurants. You’ll have a bigger selection of things like steakhouses, seafood restaurants, and upscale Italian eateries in Evansville, but Newburgh has a few fancy restaurants, too. And, as a bonus, most of them sit on or near the Ohio River, so you’ll have a great view while you eat!

Want to dine where the locals do? Head to Biaggi’s for unique gourmet ravioli, choose between Italian and Arabian food at House of Como, or feast on a giant steak at Cork n Cleaver.

- You can eat where the college kids eat

Because the University of Evansville sits on the city’s eastern side, it’s a convenient area to go eat in whether you live in Evansville or Newburgh. As a result, you’ll only be a few short minutes from a near-endless array of chain restaurants, places to grab a cheap bite, a variety of pizza restaurants, and lots of fun pubs and bars.

- Head west for great German food

The West Side of Evansville has been home to German transplants for more than 100 years, which means there is some awfully good German food on this side of town! Even if you’re driving in from Newburgh, the extra few minutes will be well worth it when you taste the giant portions of schnitzel, bratwurst, sauerkraut, and German beer.
