Shopping in Evansville and Newburgh – A Selection That Will Impress Everyone!
Newburgh is one of Evansville’s most popular suburbs, and while there’s definitely a quieter, slower pace here, you’ll still be close enough to Evansville to enjoy all of the big-city amenities.
Here are the best shopping tips if you’re thinking of renting an apartment in Evansville or Newburgh:
- Take full advantage of Eastland Mall
Inside this traditional mall, you’ll find three department stores and over 130 specialty stores. And as an added benefit, it’s easy to get to from both Evansville and Newburgh. The mall sits just north of Lloyd Expressway and just west of I-69 – making it easy to get to no matter where you’re coming from. In fact, your Newburgh apartment will only be about 15 minutes away.
- Don’t always assume you have to drive all the way to Evansville to go shopping
Newburgh may be small, but it’s got plenty of locally-owned stores and boutiques that will give your credit card a great workout! Some of the most fun shopping can be done near Main Street – where you’ll have a great view of the Ohio River in addition to a great selection of stuff to buy.
And, Newburgh has plenty of places to do your “regular” errands, too. There’s a Walmart Supercenter on the north end of town, along with plenty of pharmacies, dollar stores, and pet stores sprinkled along the way.
- But when you do head over to Downtown Evansville, you’ll love it
Main Street in Downtown Evansville is home to antique stores, gift shops, and art galleries. Plus, there’s a variety of cute restaurants mixed in with all of the stores, so you’ll have everything you need for a great day of shopping.
- Spend some time on Newburgh’s Main Street, too
This is where you’ll find Newburgh’s Historic District, so not only will you have great stores, you’ll have plenty of charm, too! This area is home to unique boutiques, consignment shops with one-of-a-kind bargains, and small spas that can give you a great pick-me-up in between purchases.
- Pick a shopping destination based on your mood
Shopping in Evansville is much different from shopping in Newburgh. Because Evansville is so much bigger, you’ll find a lot more congestion here. Yes, there are more stores to choose from, but there will also be plenty of other shoppers around you. If you’d rather spend a lazy Saturday afternoon browsing in quiet stores, you’ll enjoy what Newburgh has to offer. And, as an added benefit, there are more one-of-a-kind stores in Newburgh, compared to all of the big names you’ll see in Evansville.
